Geography

Bramm hugs the eastern coastline and is west of the Maugtheni lands. The eastern portion of the nation is heavily forested, and is pocketed with numerous bays and inlets — two conditions that have led to advancemets in seafaring and boatcraft. The western side of the nation is less forested and gradually falls off toward the west, toward the Vissink and the swamps of Everlock.

Culture & Society

The state religion in Bramm is the worship of Ashblack. Foreigners who visit Bramm are sometimes off-put by the more morbid nature of life there. Most small townships are built with graveyards in their town center, and field workers are nonchalant about using the composting of dead bodies for their fields.

Bramm produces an abundance of maize which is often exported to other nations, and well as plentious livestock — boars and pigs, cattle, and chicken, and on the eastern coast, fish, octopi, eel and mooncrabs. Brammish wine (which is usually referred to as bonewine or gravewine — primarily because of the use of body composting as mentioned previously — is an exotic taste, but has its fans within and without Bramm.

Brammish folk are generally welcoming and liberal, though perhaps more opportunistic than thos from Callen Moor or Regimantis. Bramm welcomes foreigners, and has a robust economy of businesses and guilds. In the cities, such as the capital of Tarshnash, travelers are generally safe, but should keep a wary

Most buildings are built from the pale white woods prevalent in their forests, with darker ebony trim. The result is solid, functional buildings, but with a slightly skeletal/ghostly feel.

The Brammish fleets are also built from the same white woods, giving their armadas a more ominious feeling on the water.

Dress

Brammish fashion marries garrish opulence with velvet black doublets and half capes. Unlike Regimantis, where wealth is generally understated or hidden, Brammish citizens prefer to showcase their wealth, and favor rings, necklaces, brooches, and buckles. These are especially visible against the blacks of their clothing. Motifs of snakes and dragons are popular.

Arts and Entertainment

Brammish folk are gregarious and prone to gambling and feats of skill. They enjoy a good feast, and with feasting, drinking. Their main festival drink is called Normorren, and is made of the berries of a plant that “grows best” on graves. Commonly called “corpse wine”, it is smooth and somewhat sweet, though tempered with honeysuckle and jasmine.

Magic

Bramm openly embraces all magic, both Arcane and Divine. In and around Tarshnash, Orh-Towers extend the range and ease of spellcraft, but the coasts are more or less on their own. Magic goods are easily sold and traded here; in fact, Brammish rates are known to be much higher than those of other nations, so many adventurers hang on to their spoils until they find themselves in a Brammish town.

Entering into Service of the Crown

Knights of Bramm are required to swear the following oath to the crown.

“Do you {insert name}  swear to uphold knightly values, to fix the Kingdom of Bramm first in your thoughts, and to defend to your last its Rulers, Lands and Estates? In the name of the Queen and by the sacred trust bestowed on me by our Ancestors. I name you Sir {Insert name here} , Knight of Bramm, and Defender of the Kingdom.

Brammish Knights are given a Medallion with the Torch and Dragon of Bramm (which gives a +3HP armor bonus), and a Longsword with a gold and platinum hilt of the Dragon and Torch. The knights name is inscribed in glowing runes down the length of the blade. (+2 hit/damage)
